| Paul | exploding caps n' such. I've been tweaking around with an AA764 vibro-champ and ran into an interesting thing. I found the cap and resistor going to pin 8 on the 6V6 were fried. With a little help, I figured out which way to install the cap and went on my way. I guessed wrong on the resistor and put in a 470k instead of a 470 ohm. (oops). The cap (25/25) exploded. I don't understand why. What could cause this? Gerrie Weber's book shows the + end of the cap pointing toward the 6v6, am I wrong? Thanks for answering my basic questions. Paul Frischmann |
