I've had VERY good success using 1/8" short steel rivets. drill the hole, pop the rivets in with the gun, and then knock the "nailheads" out wih a small punch... easily soldered to, and iinexpensive... box of 150 rivets is around $1.50 at most places like Lowe's or Home Depot... try it...
