ADM | Re: Back to back trannys question A 12ax7 has two heaters (one for each triode), for optimal tube life each heater requires about 6.3v and draws about 150 mA. There are two ways to connect them 1)Heaters in parallel - Requires 6.3v, draws 300mA (2x150mA) - Connect to pins 4&5 and connect to pin 9 2)Heaters in series - Requires 12.6 v (2x6.3v) draws 150mA - Connect to pin 4 and connect to pin 5 Andrew. |
