| BIG Dave | Soldano thing... I found this Soladano thing in my basement last night called the "Soldano Hot Mod". I remember purchasing it many years ago however I think I found it useless because it required a Marshall with a master volume and I didn't have a master volume (or know how to install one) on my Marshall at the time. I think I just put it away and forgot about it. Now it's about 10 years later and I have a 2204 in addition to my 4-input Marshalls. I'll have to plug it in and see how it sounds. It uses a 6K11/6Q11 tube that's inserted into a special base that plugs into the second preamp tube socket on a 2203 or 2204 Marshall. It claims to be designed by Mike Soldano and Bill Sundt and is based on proprietary KONTROLLED KLIPPING found in the world famous Soldano ampolifier. Gain, tone, and distortion will be dramatically increased. The special socket has 4 resistors and 2 capacitors soldered onto a minature circuit board that is inside the special socket. The 6K11 tube plugs into the special socket and then the whole thing plugs into the middle preamp socket. I'll give it a try and let everyone know my opinion. |
