Quad vs. two matched pairs

| MM | Quad vs. two matched pairs I am replacing a matched quad in a Mesa stereo power amp with two matched pairs. Should I keep the matched pair next to one another or alternate a tube from each pair? Put another way, should I put pair A in sockets 1&2, and pair B in sockets 3&4, or pair A in sockets 1&4 and pair B in sockets 2&3, or does it make any significant difference? |
