Replacing trim pots with fixed resistors?

Are there certain settings that most people use for these trim pots when building their own Dumble clone amps? If that was the case, then one or both of the trim pots could be replaced with fixed resistors. Also, I think I'd heard that some of the later Dumbles use a panel mounted version of one of those trim pots. What I had in mind was to replace one of the trimmers with a regular pot and use fixed resistors for the other. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

P.S. I've been thinking about rebuilding the preamp of my Peavey Classic 30 as an Overdrive Special and while there should be room on the existing pcb for fixed resistors, it could be difficult to install the trim pots so that they could be adjusted in "real time" while the amp is on...
