| Loudernhel | Re: Did Fender intentionally design this amp to go up in flames? It's fixed. I bent the pilot tab away from the chassis. By the way the leg that was hooked up to that tab was the opposite one from the one that was grounded when I turned the pot during the smoke and flames incident. I tested it with the original bias pot and it worked fine. I did take the bias pot out of the circuit and replace it with a pair of 100ohm resistors. The pot measured fine on a meter, despite the fact that parts of it were visibly melted. My customer was fine with the resistors in place of the pot. Actually he kind of had to be unless he wants me to take the amp with me to Oregon when I move. I really don't think I can get a 100 ohm screwdriver adjust pot here in 6 days...
