 | Re: reverb on both channels? Here's a quick and easy method from our good friend Dave Stork, which he posted over on Ted Weber's board a while back:
I have a mod for combining the channels before the reverb that I've been doing for years. I don't know if I'm the first person to think of it, but I haven't seen anyone else do it. Then again, I don't read all the "guru" books.
The second preamp stages of both channels, which already share a cathode resistor and bypass cap, can be fully paralleled. Remove the plate resistor, coupling cap and signal lead to the 220K summing resistors from the Normal channel second stage. Change the Vibrato channel second stage plate resistor to 47K or 56K to stay closer to the original tone, or leave it at 100K for a little more gain. You should probably upgrade this resistor to 1 watt since twice the current will be passing through it. Connect the plate of Normal stage #2 to the plate of Vibrato stage #2. Remove the 220K "summing" resistors before the phase inverter. Replace the 220K for the Vibrato channel with a jumper (short piece of wire).
The benefits of this mod include:
1) It's easy to do, and easily reversed if desired.
2) The tremolo and reverb work on both channels.
3) The two channels are now of the same polarity, so their inputs can be linked (paralleled) for more drive.
