| Niek | More tremolo design stuff Hi, I have been thinking about this trick as well but decided not to go for it because you change the impedance the hi/lo filter sees. This could result in loss of tone with all those RC combinations in there. My experience with Leo Fender is that what he did was spot on and sounded good. However, it would be an easy thing to try, so let us know if it works. I just finished a prototype op-amp base oscillator/ phase inverter for my harmonic trem unit (yes, it is SOLID STATE !). I can get a clean sinewave from 2.3 Hz - 8.1 Hz according to my scope. Any hardcore tremheads want to comment on this speedrange ? Is it enough or should I go even faster or slower ?? Is there anybody out there who can tell or estimate how much the amplitude of the tremolo sinewave has to be at the grid of the mixer valve ?? If I run the opamp off rectified heater voltage I can get a sinewave of about 5 V peak-to-peak. Cheers, Niek |
