Craig	2x50uf in parallel = approx. 25 uf If I were you I'd return to spec filtering for that rectifier - the 2 50uf caps wired in parallel give you 25uf total, plus the added benefit of having the voltage rating doubled. Fender did this on many of their later BF/SF amps. So with 2 50uf/500vdc caps in parallel, (or 2 47uf's) you get approx. 25uf/1000vdc, which is great for a 1st filter stage - high voltage capacity and well within the 50uf limit for an EZ81. then you have some room to play with what values sound best; try 2x70uf for 35uf total. Might get more solid low end support.
