Ampeg V-4 reverb problems, and tube questions
I'd like to first thank everyone, I've been reading the bbs for a while and have learned a lot.

I have a 77 Ampeg V-4 and the reverb doesn't work. It has a jack for a foot switch that is missing. Does anyone know if it is a simple spst switch that makes and breaks the circut? When I took the amp apart to clean it up I noticed the reverb pan was replaced. Does it need to have a special reverb pan because it doesn't use a transformer to drive it?

Another question I have concerns the output tubes (4 7027a's). Could I use 2 6550's after I rewire the sockets and flip the impedance switch to twice the value of the speaker? (I realize that I would need to use two because the 6550's draw twice the filament current of the 7027's)

Any comments/criticsms/suggestions are welcome
