You are right. Though I build only Tube equipment  
and specialize in Marshall, Fender and Vox, a good amount of the shop money is made by repairing SS equipment. Tuck and roll is cool, but Tubes still rule. Most of my ss repairs are done by logical progression and 95% of the time I solve the problem.  
However, finding resources for obscure ss stuff is a challenge. Where is SAMS photofacts now?  
Rick has a good Idea in that establishing a sound database for the schematics would be a treasure, especially when a customer needs that "Cherished" piece of equipment back in order. I would certainly contribute. Meanwhile, I'll fiddle my Guitle through my Dumble which is not humble.
