| MikeZ | Re: PA - Mixer to Amp Level... ah ha, this may be getting closer to the problem... we are playing in id estimate a 25 by 25 small room, and we practice with a 100W head, and the drummer has a pretty loud style. my main question still remains...is there any difference in line level between a mixer intended to do recording and mixer intended for live onstage use?? i mean still, a 1000 watts is a 1000 watts, that *should* be enough to overpower a three piece band. today we got things a little better by placing the mike farther away from the drum kit, and turning the mike away from the amp, so now we play in a cirle kind of looking in. it helped some, but not too much. we also tried the drummer Korg D8 digital recording console for preamping the mike, we had this thing maxed out and was barely loud enough. it just must be that we have so many sounds emulating from one place...its off to daddys junky music this weekend to get a used mixer and see if that helps. 120db's? thats damn loud...how do you figure that measurement out?? thanks!! |
