I would not buy humbuckers with AlNiCo bar magnets anyway - all the PAF copies use AlNiCo - since those with ceramic magnets cancel out hum much better due to some physical properties. The L-500 Series (blade pole piece) uses AlNiCo bars as well, as far as I know. I don't know the details of other Lawrence humbuckers. Call them and ask, if you are considering these pickups. The L-280 does not use AlNiCo magnets - as far as I know. The absence of AlNiCo was NOT the reason not to buy it.
