| Tim | Strat Tremolo Arm Ello. I have an old Strat Copy. Not sure what make it is. I found it in the basement under a Buddhist Meditation Centre which turned out to be run by a fanatical gay cult. (see http://www.fwbo-files.com) As of today, this thing is nearly my favorite guitar. Specially after I stuck a picture of Mr Mackey on Acid on the pickguard and hung a little blue fluffy thing on an elastic string off the Tuning Pegs. I mostly tune it to CGDGBB and play wierd, blissful effects laden drones with it. Recently I got another old guitar, a Hofner with a Tremolo Arm (ie: whammy bar). I liked the Hofner Tremolo Bar so much I decided to get 1 for the strat. Thing is: I cant get the strat one to fit! I know it is the right bar, cos the thread is right, but it wont screw in far enough - the bridge and the tone/volume controls get in the way. I'm left with a limp tremolo arm that wont stay in 1 place & keeps getting in the way. Also it's not really big enough - compared to my new Hofner one it seems very stiff & hard to use (specially as the tone control gets in the way). I just cant make the same wibbly-type noise that I can on the Hofner! Are there any better, ie bigger tremolo arms available? Or what? -- Passive-Aggressive Blues! http://www.semilanceata.freeserve.co.uk Tim |
