| Glen H. | Re: Tung Oil finnish on guitar and neck I refinish a lot of antiques with wax, and one thing I do know is that wax and oil DO NOT mix that well. I occasionally oil a piece, then wait a few days before applying wax finish coats. This works well, and provides a nice lustre... But, I do not apply any oil after a waxing because the oil eats into the wax finish, resulting in a disgusting, tacky mess! I would just stick with the tung oil. This way, touch-ups are easy to perform! Also, you may want to check out the MinWax line (available at most hardware stores). There is likely something that will polish well, and be oil-based.
