Cleaning Musicman fretboard (Slight return)

DodgeCleaning Musicman fretboard (Slight return)
Hi guys.

Finally got around to cleaning my long suffering Silhouette all-maple fretboard and neck. After consulting Musicman, the UK importers and various woodworking friends, I settled on the following:

Clean the fretboard with 000 then 00000 grade wire wool
Applied Birchwood Casey Tru-Oil Gun Stock finish to the entire neck, leaving it to dry for 4 hours.
Rub down with the 00000 again, and applied another coat of the Tru-Oil.
Left overnight, another rub down with the 00000, and then applied Birchwood Casey Gun Stock Wax and polished.

The result was a much cleaner fretboard, which seems MUCH more resistant to finger grime and dirt, and is far easir to wipe down after a heavy session!

Hope this helps!

Cheers
