Re: Strat 5way switch wiring ?'s
Hi Marc,
I did that mod on a Fender Bullet and it sounds pretty good, I'll admit, and it is simple. But...
I like the flexibility of having all the possible combinations, I lke the mid and bridge a lot!I know that you can easily do it with a Push/pull pot, or by adding a mini switch.
I am just curious about the blend control as an alternative mod.
Also was curious about this info from Harmoic Design pu's website about the 5 way switch and some other things that they do on a prewired pickguard, Quote"
•Master volume control-compensated for smooth, gradual control with virtually no tone shift. ( I know this one the cap mod across the volume pot)

•Master tone control-with wider useful range, that retains clarity at all settings. ( ? )

•Master midrange control-that can shift the sound of the Vintage Plus pickups from rich and creamy to bright and twangy, and everywhere in between. This control is particulary useful for instantly matching your guitar to different amps when playing live, and for fine-tuning your sound in a studio.
( Midrange ala Torres mod ?)
•Special ”Smart Switch” -to brighten and boost the"in between"positions. ( Megaswitch?)

I inquired at HD, but they don't sell the switch seperately.
As with most things , I figure it's not an exclusive switch that they have made just for them, was trying to find out what exactly that it is.
Thanks!
