I have made one LES PAUL model with mahogany and top of oak (the oak is about 1/2" thick), neck of mahogany and a Rosewood frettboard. The sound is not far from a Gibson LES PAUL with a top of maple. Tthe guitar has great sustain You can se it at my site.
