I’ve got a Strat PU in the neck position on my Tele and you’re right it is one killer guitar. It has a wide flat finger board. The strings line up with the magnets better than on my narrow 7" radius Strat. I much prefer it to the Strat. All three PU settings sound great. I can get all 7 parallel combinations on the Strat but I only use about 2 of them as I find I want to adjust the amp tone controls differently for positions 2 and 4 on the 5 way. I’d much rather have 3 killer sounds than 7 not so good ones. Also for some reason the tone and vol controls are usable on the Tele. If I turn down from 10 on the Strat it gets muddy even though I have the same value components in both guitars.
