Mark HammerRe: Tele 7-way wiring
I'm not sure what the 6th and 7th settings are. Could you elaborate, and we'll be able to offer suggestions?

In the meantime, a simple arrangement that will get you 9 different combinations on this guitar is as follows:

First, put in a traditional 3-way Tele switch.

Second, drill a 1/4" hole in between the Volume and Tone controls, and stick in a 3-position ON-OFF-ON DPDT toggle switch. These shouldn't cost you more than $5 or $6 for a good one.

We'll call the 6 toggle-switch terminals #1 through #6, lined up like so:

1 - 2 - 3

4 - 5 - 6

The black wire from the center pickup goes to #2. The white wire from the same pickup goes to #5. Run a piece of solid wire from #1 to #6, and then from #6 to the input of the Volume control. Run another piece of solid wire from #3 to #4 and from there to ground.

This arrangement will give you standard Tele switching when the toggle is in the middle position. Flick the toggle switch one way and it kicks the middle pickup in parallel with whatever else happens to be on. Flick the toggle switch the other way, and it does the same thing, but out of phase. The only thing this won't give you is Middle-only, but frankly it's no big loss.

If you are concerned about the cosmetics of the instrument, control plates for Teles are cheap. Buy one for drilling and save the original for when you want to sell the guitar as "original".
