That leads to a significent decrease in field strength (maybe compenated slightly by the iron shield) and the magnets can far more easily be demagnetised.... Another issue is that the total inductance must be ~ 2.4 Henry. The coils are shielded against each other an thus mutual inductance is vanishing: each coil has an inductance of 1.2 H. Thus thus induced voltage is reduced drastically.....
