I wouldn't worry too much about the plate voltage... as long as you're using a good 6V6 tube (NOS or at the very least, one of the newer Sovtek 6V6EHs) you should be OK. Some Deluxe Reverbs run them at over 400+ plate volts...! The thing to watch out for is the plate dissipation, if your plates are glowing red at all, the tubes are running too hot.
