That will lower the current to an acceptable level, but I'll still be putting too high voltage on the 6V6 plate, right? The 470 ohm resistor will increase the plate-to-cathode voltage (?) which is now at 359 volts. My RCA tube book says 350 Volts max on the plate. Or am I the only one concerned about this? I read a description of the zenier diode modification in the Torres book last night (which, by the way, was not well written and really hard to follow). I'm hoping to avoid that approach, although I guess it doesn't sound that difficult. Thanks for following through, and I appreciate your inclusion of the calculation formulas. Dan |
