They probably knew it was worth more, but figured they may as well just get rid of it to someone who would appreciate it. Nobody should feel guilty for that kind of a deal. It's sad that your friend's stuff had to be auctioned off. When my girlfriend died unexpectedly a couple years ago, her family put a lot of her stuff out at a garage sale. It was a hard thing to see. The family that had to do your friends auction may not have had much choice. I wouldn't feel bad for bidding...I hope you got something. You would be one of the only people that would truly have appreciated it. You didn't intentionally try to take advantage of someone who doesn't deserve to be rooked. Brad
