Re: Super Reverb
I know what ya mean Brad. An old man i made friends with.working on his equip. We would talk for hrs. he'd show me old things he had, and recordings he made. Well one day i went to an auction here, advertised about music gear. I found out it was his.. he had passed away. There were people from all over coming to bid on his things. His wife was very old.. he was about 80 when he passed away.I knew i didn't have much of a chance to get any of his things. And thought his wife may have need the money selling his things. As the auction went on.. his wife was on the side of the stage.. she had alzimers desiease.. she was crying and wanting a tape of his music from a reel to reel they were selling.
If only these people knew how this man loved his music.. it was what he loved to do more than anything, all his life. It was hard to sit, and know how she was feeling, knowing this man. Hard to even type this thinking of him,and how she must of felt.
I had bid on his amp before she had came out. And when i seen how she cried to get his music.. i felt like an ass, even to have bid on it. I guess some would take advantage of an old person..selling something at a yard sale, but i liked your post of how you'd tell them.I bought out most of an old TV shop, after the guy had passed away. But his sons just wanted to get rid of the junk for the building. So i thought it would be put to good use if i got it and not just thrown out.I think even the guy would rather have seen this too.It was unbeleivable the stuff he had collected over 50 yrs.
