Re: Super Reverb
Well Dave,
I wouldn't feel bad about getting one for that price from a wanker kid....or a pawn shop. The kid will regret it later, but, that's part of the learning process. How I wish I'd kept some of the stuff I let go of over the years!! Live and learn.
I would, however, feel bad about the recently widowed old lady who has her dearly departed husband's amp at a garage sale for that price. I think I would have to tell her to take it inside, DON'T sell it yet...and then recommend some people to appraise it, (besides myself), and put in the paper to sell. I would recommend to her that if everyone agreed she could sell it for $1000, she should advertize that, and sell it for less to someone who seemed deserving. After all....$700 is still a lot more than the $50 she almost let it go for. If nothing else, she might appreciate your honesty, and force YOU to take it cheap....or even give it to you...for being such a nice, honest young man. The thing is, I don't feel guilty teaching a kid a lesson, or getting a hell of a deal from an unsuspecting pawnshop owner. I would feel bad ripping off a poor, grieving widow.:D
