I keep remembering the Conan Doyle character in the funny hat that said "Eliminate the impossible, and whatever remains, no matter how unlikely, must be the truth." Or close to that anyway. There may have been a "Dear Watson" sprinkled in. From your note, you have eliminated - the amp ( with that Ampeg) - the bass itself - the cable to the speaker cab - the speaker - the speaker wiring All that remains is the connectors into the cabinet and speaker fuse/breaker if there is one, etc. that is there. I think you must have an intermittent in there. Either that or you've offended some minor deity in some way, or your speaker cab is haunted.

From your note, you have eliminated
- the amp ( with that Ampeg)
- the bass itself
- the cable to the speaker cab
- the speaker
- the speaker wiring
