I've checked the tubes too, they're not microphonic - I've tested moving them around, and still the same noise, and _only_ on the drive channel, with the additional drive stage engaged. I've bought some Sovtek "high gain" tubes, and I'll make sure they're in the drive+drive stage, then I'll check it again... If the squealing still won't give, I'll have to bring it to a tech. I really don't have time for that - our band's got a gig coming up in a couple of weeks. Don't know if I dare gigging with the amp, when it's acting like this... There's one additional problem, as well... I have very little headroom on the clean channel. Can this be caused by the new preamp tubes?! Thanks for your time! Tom |
