Paul Harker | Re: Schematic Errata Had my Tube 30 open last night for the first time. Interesting. The chassis is stamped (cut out) on a hidden face for a second configuration. That configuration appears to have one more pot and one more jack. (perhaps reverb and reverb switch?). There is an undocumented trim pot on the board. I could not make out the value, but it is tied between pins 4 and 5 of the first 12AX7 with the wiper to ground. The only thing I did at this time was to lift D1 and D2 on the input, as it had sounded like I was getting diode clipping when using hotter pickups. I do appear to be able to set the gain higher w/clean tone, but regretably I didn't make note of the exact points where the clipping was occuring before doing the mod. I'm sure there are no negative side-effects though! Paul |
