I had thought about reconfiguring my PI as a gainstage/split load inverter, but I thing that the long tail inverter is a much better design. also, that would leave me with the same problem, too much gain. I'm thinking that the single triode will have enough juice to clip the power tubes, especially after it is boosted by the PI. Do you think there will be any problems with putting the volume between the gainstage and the cathode follower? Ricky
