Mashall Plexiclone...problem...

MikeZ	Mashall Plexiclone...problem... i had a couple issues with my DIY plexiclone... i recently felt that the output has gone way down, then doing a check i found i had lost one of my el34's. unfortunately i played the amp for a little while without one power tube, cuase my meter was broken and i stupidly figured i would judt wait till i got my new meter to crack it open and diagnose it. the amp sounded okay, and i replaced the el34's and biased then to 35ma and there have been no problems that i can detect. could i have really damaged something? output tranny? speakers? they all seem to be fine. once i reaplced the tubes, the funny thing is the amp doesnt sound twice as loud, although its louder. the amp also starts to distort (with my strat) at about 5.5 or 6 (channels linked up, with both birhgt and dark at this setting). is this about right?? thanks!
