it's not about the vintage bvalue of that cap cover.... I agree you could get a new replacement to hack up, it' about common sense. If you short out a filter cap, say bye bye to that vintage gz34 rectifier (commanding more anthan $50 these days each!), + say byebye to that power transformer ($100+), it's just not safe
