Ground switch eleminated?

Tracy	Ground switch eleminated? Hi I want to eleminate the virtual ground switch on my 1484 50 watt tube guitar amp and add a grounded power chord. If i do this would it be benifical to leave the .05 cap hooked from chassi to the neutral wire along with the chassi ground. I realize this would not help for reverse polarity, but if there is a general ground fault in the building, the amp could revert back to virtual ground. Does this filter any line noise or could it be a potiental noise source, creating a ground loop? Thanks Tracy
