However, if you do likewise make sure you ask for a hot set (talk to bob, he's very helpful). The DB has plenty of clean headroom so you'll still stay clean but the hotter running tubes will round off the highs a bit. You'll also have much more treble range so you'll probably have to back off the tone a bit. As for the SS rectifier, i'm not sure if this is an issue with harshness. Usually a tube rectifier adds a certain bounciness, particularly in the lows. But i think this would be an extensive mod since the amp is PCB board. Let me know how it goes. Or what you find out. n.
