Re: Weber 5f8 chassis
Tom,

I know that Mojo used to have a tweed power transformer, but I also no longer see it on the Mojo list.

The old Mojo website was never kept up-to-date, so it is nice to see the new owner is putting up some info about the products. However, some of the product descriptions are completely wacko (and probably bogus). Check these out:

The Super Reverb and Blackface Bassman use the same power transformer according to this:

The Twin Reverb transformer has a 5V heater winding according to this:

You and I know that the blackface Twin and Bassman never used a rectifier tube. It is this kind of lack of attention to detail that frustrates and confuses those just getting into tube amps. Also, the listed Mojo retail prices are just not competitive with other stuff out there. I, along with many other I am sure, don't want to call and "haggle" on price. I just want to pay a reasonable price for a transformer. Any Fender transformer should not cost over $100, unless it is a vintage piece or was wound by Leo himself.

I guess I'm just going to go with a New Sensor Twin Reverb power and output transformer, some 6L6s, and get on with life. Man, a Vox EL84 4x10" style amp in a tweed cabinet would have been cool ...
