Re: greenback vs. vintage30
It really depends on the type of music and tone you're going for. Ive been using a Dual Recto for a couple of years and was always annoyed at the amount of high end I was getting. Vintage 30s are pretty bright I always use a B cab and they were still too hot,the bottom end was also a bit farty. I recently bought an old Marshall straight front cab from 1968 and its the best sounding box Ive ever used ( it has greenbacks). Now Ive used greenbacks b4 (modern ones) and hated them, but these sound TOTALLY different-lots of great bottom end and the basket weave really cuts the top end for me,this is what they design the Bogner cabinets after (another great sounding cab)-so there you have it-find an old Marshall-thats not fucked or by a Bogner cab (not cheap) remember your quad is a HUGE part of your tone dont compromise with a shitty Marshall 1960a box-ZAKK
ps I play modern type rock/metal
