The Fender Amp Field Guide has schematics for the various Fender Twin Reverbs: http://www.ampwares.com/ffg/ Look at the AA763 and AA769 schematics and you'll see that the only difference between a balance pot and a bias pot is that the balance pot has an extra tap. Otherwise, they are both 10K linear pots. When I perform this modification, I do not replace the balance pot. I just rewire it as a bias pot and leave the tap unused.
