| Justin | Newbie question: How do I pull tubes to cut wattage? Sorry that I have to ask a newbie question, but I'm don't want to try this without some expert advice. I know you've probably all been asked this a million times. I have a 100watt head with 4 EL34s. If I want to pull two of them to cut the wattage to 50, do I have to pull two specific tubes? If so, which ones do I pull, how will I know they're the right ones? And once this is done, how do I connect it to my cab? My cab has 4 25watt greenbacks and runs at 16ohms. I think I read that I should double the impedence load. Does that mean I should run from the 8ohm jack on my amp to the 16ohm cab? Thanks for the help, and sorry if this is annoying but in my experience you guys are always pretty cool about this sort of newbie stuff. |
