If not, the grids are floating at about 0v and are more POSITIVE than the cathode, and it's running away asif it's biased to hot... If you DO have the grid resistors in, check to make sure that are grounded since this is cathode-biased, otherwise you have the same situation as if the resistors weren't installed... good luck...
