Finally I got the motorboating AC-30 problem solved. Only to have a sever hum problem! It must be the heaters as it is 60cps. I'm guessing its a the lead dress problem. I've never had anthing but trouble with El-84 prototype amps. I'd speculate that the close proximity of the tabs on a 9-pin socket make wire routing critical. Any thoughts or input out there?` pg
