I had the grid resistors on the EL-84's attached between pins 8 and 9 with a jumper to the second tube (like a Fender). Couldn't figure it out for the longest time. After some poking around the chassis with a chopstick (what a great tool!),I located the problem. I rewired the grid resistors from pin 9 (get the resistor body right next to the socket tab),twisted the two resistors together and ran a short wire to the PI section. Since you only have two tubes in a Tremelux you won't have to twist the resistors together. good luck. pg
