Leo..genius? maybe...astute?..absolutely..   a couple of things to bear in mind about good ol' Leo...he was in a great postion post war..qualified people to fill many capacities..surplus machinery,   surplus parts, vendors tooled up to make parts..LA area shipping and manufacturing hub..all the elements were there to take advantage of the post war boom..or disposable income in todays parlance..   Leo was able to integrate all those circumstances into a affordable and much later for us a benchmark to compare all others.. A Strat was around $250.00 in '58 ( only receipt I have )..that was still a chunk of change when a aerospace engineer in that time was making $2.00 an hour..so ..to extrapolate to today..to purchase an amp that embodies the same quality, desireabilty and cutting edge features..   OK you get the idea... oh.. you priced a tour rider spec drum kit lately?   thanx   Jethro
