Just to add another option: Sovtek is now making a 7027. I have four of them in my ampeg v4b. It is has a really nice sound to me. But I've never heard this amp with 6L6's so, unfortunately, I can't give you a comparison. The new sovtek 7027's are fairly expensive (about $60/pair).  
The svetlana 6L6GC's are fairly highly regarded, too, and cheaper (about $30/pair).
