| John Stokes | Re: Anyone using GT/Sino KT66 Some misunderstanding here. 1. - The GT KT66 is made in Russia, exclusively for them by the Reflektor factory, the same factory that makes the Sovtek branded tubes for New Sensor. This tube is quite pricey. 2. - The Sino Chinese KT66 is considered by some to sound better. It's sold under a couple names like Valve Art, Ruby Tubes, etc. This tube is cheaper than the GT above, but still is a bit expensive. 3. - Both the above are *real* KT66 type tubes. 4. - The Sovtek branded KT66 is *not* a real KT66 at all. Rather, it's the guts of their 6L6WXT in a curved bottle, at twice the price. Bottom line... Don't fall for the BS and hype in the advertising. Go for the Valve Art tube. |
