Re: '59 Bassman reissue
Hi ew

I've never seen a reissue close up so I don't know the answer to this question, but what are the cab and baffle made out of? Unless the cab is solid pine and the baffle 5/16" ply (and floating)per original specs, you'll never get the reissue to sound 100%like an original. I had a Peavey Classic 50 for awhile, and with its particle board cab, thick, non-floating baffle, and horrible speakers it sounded nothing like a Bassman. But when I ran the Peavey through my Bassman cab with the original Jensen P10R's, the Peavey sounded ALOT more like the Bassman. Just something to consider, in case you go through all these other mods, and end up wondering why your reissue STILL doesn't sound like a Bassman.

That notwithstanding, there are plenty of advantages to having a thicker, non-floating baffle and heavier-duty speakers, if indeed that is the case with the reissue.
