Peter Michaux	Re: tube bass amp You could possibly build a modified version of the Bass 400. Keep only one of the inputs and the rest of the preamp the same. Then remove 4 of the output tubes. I think that would leave you with 2/3rds the power of a Bass 400.     This way you'll be using a design which was taylored for bass and just be reducing the power.     It's a thought.     Peter
