| Gary | Re: '63 Vibroverb Reissue - Should I?? I have one of the Vibroverb reissues and have used it it gigging weekly for the last 6 years. I replaced a black face Twin with it (the twin is now used in studio where it doesn't have to be hauled around) as the Twin was just too heavy for me to carry around. I have replaced the speakers with Kendrick black frames and put some NOS RCA tubes in it. This made a huge difference. The amp has a very good Fender sound as well as being a good size and power for club size giggs. I also use a Mesa Boggie V-twin in front of it to get a modern overdrive sound. This lets me get clean rythmn, natural over drive for blues and classic rock and a more pre-amp Mesa over drive for more modern stuff. I have just purchased a Hoffman AB763 point to point board for it and will add a tube rectifier. Granted it wont be the same amp but its a great place to start. At that price buy it you can't go wrong. Gary |
