TomRe: kendrick crackle noise? No ideas at all?
Thanks for your reply Richie!
I checked the pre amp and that seems to be ok, I have now narrowed it down to something in the power amp or power supply, the tubes are not the problem I have checked with new different ones aswell so i will now check the power amp tube sockets again and I also found a couple of bad grounding points, I also found that it had been some ground arcing between the power supply filter caps tank and one of the speaker magnets!! I Isolated it but that was not the main problem apparantly,
still weird though,I would say it is a bad designed amp! (it is supposed to be a clone of a -59 Bassman but it has 498 v on the plates!)and again lots of poor soldering! Is it true that G.Weber sold meat at doors before he started building amps??
I have also checked Keens debugging page and maybe I will get some ideas from that. Thanks .
T
