Re: PS Choke? Winding own transformers?
Now I'm starting to think winding my own transformer would not be such a hot idea. The hammond ones are fairly inexpensive. I was thinking about doing this because I wanted the variac setting on the power transformer. However actual variacs rated at 5 A or more go for about $55-$80 on ebay so I'd rather just a real variac and be able to use it with any amp.

Does anyone know if the voltages shown on the power supply (A=460 V, B=454 V,...) are for the bold or spongy setting. I'd like to build the bold setting and then tone down to spongy with a variac. Has anyone measured their Dual Rectifier?

That choke is still a mystery too?

Thanks you,
Peter
